Kāmarūpeśvara’s Trial and Śiva’s Hidden Protection (कামरूपेश्वर-रक्षा-प्रसङ्गः)
भीमशंकरनामा त्वं भविता सर्वसाधकः । एतल्लिंगं सदा पूज्यं सर्वापद्विनिवारकम्
bhīmaśaṃkaranāmā tvaṃ bhavitā sarvasādhakaḥ | etalliṃgaṃ sadā pūjyaṃ sarvāpadvinivārakam
त्वं भीमशङ्करनाम्ना लोके ख्यातिं गमिष्यसि, सर्वसाधकः। एतल्लिङ्गं सदा पूज्यं, सर्वापद्विनिवारकम्॥
Lord Shiva (as narrator of the Jyotirlinga’s name and fruit)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
It declares Bhīmaśaṅkara as a grace-bestowing manifestation of Shiva and teaches that steady devotion to the Jyotirlinga becomes a means for both worldly well-being and higher spiritual fulfillment under Shiva’s protection.
The verse affirms Saguna Shiva’s accessibility through the Liṅga: worship of “this Liṅga” is prescribed as a constant practice, showing the Liṅga as a concrete focus for devotion through which Shiva grants siddhi and removes obstacles.
Regular Liṅga-pūjā is implied—daily worship with mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), offerings like water and bilva leaves, and remembrance of Shiva as the remover of dangers.
