विभीषणागमनम्
Vibhīṣaṇa’s Arrival and the Debate on Refuge
अज्ञातरूपैःपुरुषैस्सराजन्पृच्छ् यतामिति ।यदुक्तमत्रमेप्रेक्षाकाचिदस्तिसमीक्षिता ।।6.17.59।।
ajñāta-rūpaiḥ puruṣaiḥ sa rājan pṛcchyatām iti | yad uktam atra me prekṣā kācid asti samīkṣitā || 6.17.59 ||
‘अज्ञातरूपैः पुरुषैः, राजन्, स पृच्छ्यताम्’ इत्यत्रोक्तम्; किन्तु विषयं सम्यक् समीक्ष्य ममात्रान्या प्रेक्षा मतिः।
Reflecting for a while he addressed Hanuman and the other Vanara leaders in this way.
Dharma in governance: counsel may differ, but decisions should follow careful review (samīkṣā) rather than mere suspicion.
A proposal is raised to interrogate Vibhīṣaṇa through unknown/disguised agents; Mainda responds that he has assessed the issue and disagrees.
Independent judgment with accountability—Mainda distinguishes between repeating others’ views and offering a considered conclusion.
