रावणभवनपरिक्रमणं हनूमतः शोकविचारश्च
Hanuman’s Circuit of Ravana’s Palace and the Crisis of Deliberation
इहैव नियताहारो वत्स्यामि नियतेन्द्रियः।।।।न मत्कृते विनश्येयुः सर्वे ते नरवानराः।
ihaiva niyatāhāro vatsyāmi niyatendriyaḥ | na matkṛte vinaśyeyuḥ sarve te naravānarāḥ ||
इहैव अहं नियताहारः नियतेन्द्रियश्च वत्स्यामि, यथा मत्कृते ते सर्वे नरवानराः न विनश्येयुः।
"I will stay here itself, restricting my food and controlling my senses. Let not men and monkeys perish for my fault.
Dharma is personal responsibility: Hanumān accepts that his failure should not destroy others, and he turns to self-restraint as a form of accountability.
In a moment of despair, Hanumān considers staying back with austerity so that the larger mission-force is not ruined due to him.
Self-control (indriya-nigraha) and moral responsibility toward the community.
