कबन्धमोक्षः—सुग्रीवमैत्र्युपदेशः
Kabandha’s Release and Counsel to Befriend Sugriva
एवमुक्तौतु तौ वीरौ कबन्धेन नरेश्वरौ।गिरिप्रदरमासाद्य पावकं विससर्जतुः।।।।
evam uktau tu tau vīrau kabandhena nareśvarau | giripradaram āsādya pāvakaṃ visasarjatuḥ ||
एवं कबन्धेनोपदिष्टौ तौ नराधिपवीरौ गिरिप्रदरं प्राप्य पावकं प्रज्वालयामासतुः, विधिवत् कर्म सिद्ध्यर्थम्।
Thus said by Kabandha, the two lords of men, the heroes reached a cave in the mountain and lighted the fire.
Even amid hardship, one should perform rightful duties—here, honoring a being’s request and completing the proper rite, reflecting compassion and adherence to dharma.
After Kabandha’s counsel, Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa proceed to a mountain cleft and light a fire as part of the rite connected with Kabandha’s release.
