Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A year-long vrata is suggested through a montage-like composition: moon phases above, a devotee and his wife offering flowers and water to a Śiva-liṅga, while a young maiden performs nakta—waiting until nightfall to take a simple meal. The scene conveys quiet endurance: a calendar of months, a steady lamp, and repeated worship gestures that accumulate spiritual force.","primary_figures":["Śiva (liṅga form)","householder man","wife","kumārī (maiden)"],"setting":"Temple courtyard or home shrine with a Śiva-liṅga, bilva leaves, water pot, and a small night-meal setup (simple bowl) in the background.","lighting_mood":"moonlit","color_palette":["ash gray","bilva green","moon silver","lamp amber","saffron cloth"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: central Śiva-liṅga with ornate gold-leaf arch; the couple and a maiden in rich silk garments offering water and flowers; gold leaf highlights on vessels and jewelry; deep maroon and emerald backdrop; stylized calendar motifs (twelve panels) around the border.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: a lyrical night scene with a pale moon, delicate trees, and a small shrine; the maiden seated calmly awaiting her nakta meal; the couple performing abhiṣeka; cool blues and soft greens, fine facial features, gentle narrative sequencing across the page.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines; Śiva-liṅga centered with stylized flames of a lamp; the trio in frontal poses; strong reds/yellows/greens; rhythmic repetition motifs suggesting a year-long vow; temple-wall symmetry.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: devotional border of lotus and bilva leaves; central shrine with repeated small vignettes of monthly worship; deep indigo night field with silver moon motifs; intricate floral patterns and ceremonial vessels rendered in gold accents."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"devotional","suggested_raga":"Durga","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"authoritative","sound_elements":["temple bells","night insects","soft drum (mridangam)","conch shell"]}

It prescribes a year-long observance of fasting/vow (upavāsa/vrata) performed according to scriptural rules, culminating in devoted worship of Śiva.

“Nakta” commonly refers to the discipline of eating only at night (a regulated single night-meal), used as a form of austerity within a vrata.

It emphasizes disciplined observance (vidhivat) joined with devotion (bhakti), presenting worship as effective when supported by restraint and sincerity.
