Application: Plan observances with pañcāṅga awareness; prioritize sincerity but honor auspicious alignments when possible (fasting, vigil, charity, kīrtana).

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

FAQs

It points to the special merit of observing a sacred timing (tithi–vāra–nakṣatra yoga): Aṣṭamī occurring on Monday or Wednesday, specifically when joined with the Rohiṇī nakṣatra.

It means “bestowing liberation to ten million lineages,” i.e., the spiritual benefit of this auspicious conjunction is described as so powerful that it uplifts not only the practitioner but also an immense ancestral lineage.

It underscores the Purāṇic emphasis on disciplined religious timing and intentional observance—aligning one’s practice with sacred calendrical moments as a form of dharmic commitment and ancestral responsibility.
