FAQs

This verse is not about pralaya; it focuses on daily domestic worship (Vaiśvadeva) and the correct method of invoking the Viśvedevas and offering barley.

It outlines a householder’s (and by extension a king’s) nitya-karma: honoring the divine collective (Vaiśvadeva/Viśvedevas) through orderly worship—perfume and flowers followed by a grain offering—supporting dharma through daily discipline.

The significance is ritual: it specifies sequencing (worship → placement of Vaiśvadeva offering → invocation formula → scattering barley), highlighting how mantras and materials (yava) are paired in Purāṇic domestic rites.
