*śaunaka uvāca śrutvā kumāraṃ jātaṃ sā devayānī śucismitā cintayāviṣṭaduḥkhārtā śarmiṣṭhāṃ prati bhārata //

शौनक उवाच—कुमारस्य जातत्वं श्रुत्वा देवयानी शुचिस्मिता चिन्तया व्याकुला दुःखार्ता बभूव; सा भारत शर्मिष्ठां प्रति मनः प्रावर्तयत्।
