Adhyaya 76 — Hymn to the Goddess

आनन्द उवाच जातोऽहमवनीन्द्रस्य क्षत्रियस्य गृहे द्विज ।

तत्पत्न्यां गिरिभद्रायामाददे जातहारिणी ॥

Transliteration

ānanda uvāca jāto 'ham avanīndrasya kṣatriyasya gṛhe dvija | tatpatnyāṃ giribhadrāyām ādade jātahāriṇī ||

Translation

आनन्द उवाच— भो ब्राह्मण, अहं क्षत्रियराजगृहे जातः। तस्य भार्यायाः गिरिभद्रायाः समीपात् बालापहारिण्या स्त्रिया अहं अपहृतः।
