Adhyaya 65 — The Divine Plan
अभीष्टा कस्यचित्कान्ता कान्तः कस्याश्चिदीप्सितः ।
परस्परानुरागाढ्यं दाम्पत्यमतिदुर्लभम् ॥
abhīṣṭā kasyacit kāntā kāntaḥ kasyāścid īpsitaḥ | parasparānurāgāḍhyaṃ dāmpatyam ati-durlabham ||
नरः प्रियतमाṃ भार्यां कामयेत, नारी च प्रियं पतिं कामयेत; परस्परप्रेमसमृद्धं तु विवाहबन्धनं परमदुर्लभम्।

The ethical ideal is reciprocity (parasparānurāga), not mere possession or one-sided desire; harmony in household life is portrayed as a rare fruit of character and merit.
Dharma instruction through dialogue (upadeśa in upākhyāna).
Mutual love symbolizes integration of dualities (male/female, self/other); its ‘rarity’ reflects how seldom the mind becomes non-grasping and truly relational.
