Adhyaya 63 — Sumati's Dharma
अहञ्चेन्दीवराख्येति ख्यातो 'स्य जनको 'भवम् । विद्याधरपतेः पुत्रो नलनाभस्य खङ्गिनः ॥
ahañ cendīvarākhyeti khyāto 'sya janako 'bhavam | vidyādharapateḥ putro nalanābhasya khaṅginaḥ ||
अहं च एण्डीवर इति नाम्ना प्रसिद्धोऽभवम्; नलनाभस्य विद्याधराधिपतेः खड्गधारिणः सुतोऽहं तस्य पितृत्वं प्राप्तवान्।

High birth or celestial status does not immunize one from ethical failure; the narrative contrasts former splendor with later degradation to stress accountability.
Touches vaṃśa/vaṃśānucarita only incidentally (a brief lineage marker), but overall remains an embedded moral narrative (ākhyāna).
A ‘vidyādhara’ (bearer of knowledge) becoming rākṣasa-like signals the inversion of vidyā into avidyā when knowledge is pursued for ego, not dharma.
