FAQs

Rivers are portrayed as intrinsically purifying and auspicious; the cosmographic center is also a moral center—purity and merit are mapped onto the landscape.

Cosmography is typically grouped under creation-topics (sarga/pratisarga) and functions as the 'world-setting' that supports later discussions of dharma, lineage, and time-cycles.

A central river often symbolizes the central channel of order and vitality; 'pure flow' evokes the ideal of an untainted current of consciousness and dharma through the world.
