Adhyāya 14: Sudēṣṇā Sends Sairandhrī to Kīcaka’s House (सुदेष्णा–सैरन्ध्री–कीचक संवादः)
न चाप्यहं त्वया लभ्या गन्धर्वा: पतयो मम । ते त्वां निहन्यु: कुपिता: साध्वलं मा व्यनीनश:
na cāpy ahaṃ tvayā labhyā gandharvāḥ patayo mama | te tvāṃ nihanyuḥ kupitāḥ sādhvalaṃ mā vyanīnaśaḥ ||
न चाप्यहं त्वया लभ्या गन्धर्वाः पतयो मम । ते त्वां निहन्युः कुपिताः साध्वलं मा व्यनीनशः ॥
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Unrighteous desire and coercive intent lead to ruin; one should practice restraint, heed warnings, and abandon sinful impulses before they bring violent consequences.
A woman warns an aggressor that she cannot be possessed by him because she is protected by powerful Gandharva husbands; if he persists, they will kill him—so he should desist and avoid self-destruction.
