देवतापितृप्रश्नः — Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship
क्रमश: संचितशिखो धर्मबुद्धिमयो महान् । अन्धकारे प्रवेष्टव्यं दीपो यत्नेन धार्यताम्
kramaśaḥ sañcitaśikho dharmabuddhimayo mahān | andhakāre praveṣṭavyaṃ dīpo yatnena dhāryatām ||
व्यास उवाच—क्रमशः संचितशिखो धर्मबुद्धिमयो महान्। अन्धकारे प्रवेष्टव्यं दीपो यत्नेन धार्यताम्॥

One should cultivate and firmly hold the ‘lamp’ of dharma-informed discernment. When life presents moral darkness—confusion, temptation, ignorance—only sustained ethical understanding can guide one safely.
Vyāsa delivers an instructive metaphor: entering darkness requires a lamp. Here the lamp symbolizes a gradually strengthened inner light—dharma and buddhi—urging the listener to prepare inwardly before facing the world’s obscurity.
