प्रजापतयः देवगणाश्च दिशि-दिशि स्थिताः ऋषयः

यद्‌ यच्छरीरेण करोति कर्म शरीरयुक्त: समुपाश्चुते तत्‌ शरीरमेवायतनं सुखस्य दुःखस्य चाप्यायतनं शरीरम्‌,जीव शरीरसे जो-जो अशुभ या शुभ कर्म करता है, शरीरसे युक्त हुआ ही उसके फलोंको भोगता है; क्योंकि शरीर ही सुख और दुःख भोगनेका स्थान है
