मृदु-तीक्ष्ण-नीति तथा दुष्टलक्षण-विज्ञानम्

Measured Policy and the Recognition of Malicious Disposition

तान्‌ द्विजान्‌ कुरुते वश्यांस्तथा युक्तो महीपति: । वश चोपनयेच्छत्रून्‌ निहन्याच्च पुरंदर,पुरंदर! सूखे वैरसे अलग रहे, कण्ठको पीड़ा देनेवाले वाद-विवादको त्याग दे। जैसे व्याध अपने कार्यमें सावधानीके साथ संलग्न हो पक्षियोंको फँसानेके लिये उन्हींके समान बोली बोलता है और मौका पाकर उन पक्षियोंको वशमें कर लेता है, उसी प्रकार उद्योगशील राजा धीरे-धीरे शत्रुओंको वशमें कर ले। तत्पश्चात्‌ उन्हें मार डाले
