Arjuna’s evacuation of Dvārakā, Vasudeva’s rites, and the caravan’s crisis
sa eveśaśva bhūtveha parair ājñāpyate punaḥ |
Worldly authority and strength are unstable: the same person who commands others may later be compelled to obey. The verse underscores humility and detachment, recognizing the dominance of Kāla (Time) over human status.
Vyāsa offers a reflective observation in the Mausala Parva’s aftermath, where the collapse of the Yādavas and the passing of an era highlight reversals of fortune—rulers becoming subjects and the mighty becoming powerless.
