Portents and Kāla among the Vṛṣṇis
taṁ prasthitaṁ mahātmānam abhivādya kṛtāñjalim | jānan vināśaṁ vṛṣṇīnāṁ naicchad vārayituṁ hariḥ ||
The verse highlights acceptance of kāla (the ordained course of events). Even the Lord does not intervene out of personal attachment when a destined collective consequence is due; reverence and right understanding guide action more than emotional resistance.
Uddhava respectfully salutes and departs. Kṛṣṇa does not try to stop him because He already knows the imminent destruction of the Vṛṣṇi clan; the scene foreshadows the Mausala Parva’s catastrophic end for the Yādavas.
