धृष्टद्युम्नस्य द्रोणरथारोহণं सात्यकेः प्रतिरक्षणं च | Dhrishtadyumna Boards Droṇa’s Chariot; Sātyaki’s Counter-Protection

“अथवा आपलोगोंके ये कवच और अस्त्र-शस्त्र क्या शरीरका आभूषण बनानेके लिये हैं? मेरे पुत्रकी रक्षा न करके वीरोंकी सभामें केवल बातें बनानेके लिये हैं?” ।। एवमुक्‍त्वा ततो वाक्यं तिष्ठ॑श्नापवरासिमान्‌ । न स्माशक्यत बीभत्सु: केनचित्प्रसमीक्षितुम्‌,ऐसा कहकर फिर अर्जुन धनुष और श्रेष्ठ तलवार लेकर खड़े हो गये। उस समय कोई उनकी ओर आँख उठाकर देख भी न सका

sañjaya uvāca: “athavā āplogōṃke ye kavaca aura astra-śastra kyā śarīr kā ābhūṣaṇa banāne ke liye haiṃ? mere putra kī rakṣā na karke vīroṃ kī sabhā meṃ kevala bāteṃ banāne ke liye haiṃ?” evam uktvā tataḥ vākyaṃ tiṣṭhan āpavara-asi-mān; na sma śakyata bībhatsuḥ kenacit prasmīkṣitum.

सञ्जय उवाच—अथवा वः कवचानि शस्त्राणि च किं शरीरभूषणार्थानि? मम पुत्रं न रक्षित्वा वीरसंसदि केवलं वाग्विलासाय किम्? इत्युक्त्वा बीभत्सुः धनुः श्रेष्ठां चासिं गृहीत्वा तस्थौ; तदा तं प्रति कश्चिदपि नेत्रे समुत्थाप्य द्रष्टुं नाशकत्।
