Arjuna’s advance; deaths of Śrutāyudha and Sudakṣiṇa
तत्र सम सूदा: क्रोशन्ति सुमृष्टमणिकुण्डला:
tatra sama sūdāḥ krośanti sumṛṣṭamaṇikuṇḍalāḥ
तत्र सूताः समं क्रोशन्ति सुमृष्टमणिकुण्डलाः, कलहकोलाहले महाशब्दं कुर्वन्तः।
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights that the devastation of war is not confined to famed heroes; it spreads to attendants and ordinary participants as well. Their cries and agitation point to the ethical reality that violence multiplies suffering across all ranks.
Nārada describes a scene on the battlefield where the charioteers, identifiable even by their ornaments, are crying out in alarm. It conveys confusion and distress in the midst of the ongoing conflict.
