व्यास उवाच
The passage highlights a dharmic means of pursuing personal aims: disciplined effort joined with purity and respectful giving. Even when conflict and curses occur, the ethical response shown is to seek merit through honoring worthy recipients (Brāhmaṇas) with sustenance and clothing, emphasizing restraint, ritual cleanliness, and generosity.
After two figures exchange curses and remain where they are, the narrative shifts to King Sūñjaya. Longing for a son, he purifies himself and energetically performs acts of service—feeding and clothing Brāhmaṇas and offering drinkable provisions—seeking the fruit of progeny through sustained religious hospitality.
