Abhimanyu advances toward Droṇa’s host

The verse highlights the warrior ethic of resolute commitment: even youth is no excuse for shrinking from a vowed duty in a righteous cause. It also shows how public declaration of intent functions as moral and psychological force—strengthening one’s own side and warning the hostile army.
In the Drona Parva’s battle setting, Bhīma speaks a bold proclamation: despite being young, he will single-handedly slaughter the enemy troops in clustered groups, and all beings will witness it. The line serves as a battle-cry and a pledge of imminent action.
