द्रोणाभिमुखानां निवारण-युद्धम् / Interceptions on the Droṇa-front
यन्मां क्षत्ताब्रवीत् तात प्रपश्यन् पुत्रगृद्धिनम् । दुर्योधनेन तत् सर्व प्राप्त सूत मया सह,तात! मुझे अपने पुत्रोंके प्रति अत्यन्त आसक्त देखकर विदुरने मुझसे जो कुछ कहा था, मेरे साथ दुर्योधनको वह सब प्राप्त हो रहा है
yan māṁ kṣattābravīt tāta prapaśyan putragṛddhinam | duryodhanena tat sarvaṁ prāpta sūta mayā saha ||
धृतराष्ट्र उवाच—यन्मां क्षत्ताब्रवीत् तात प्रपश्यन् पुत्रगृद्धिनम् । दुर्योधनेन तत्सर्वं प्राप्तं सूत मया सह ॥
धृतराष्ट उवाच
Blind attachment to one’s own kin (especially sons) clouds judgment and leads to predictable ruin; wise counsel (Vidura’s) ignored returns as consequence for both the attached elder and the heir who follows that path.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra tells Sañjaya that Vidura had earlier warned him, seeing his obsessive attachment to his sons; now those very foretold outcomes are being realized in Duryodhana’s case as well, implicating Dhṛtarāṣṭra alongside him.
