evaṁ bruvati kaunteye dāśārhas tvaritas tataḥ | nivārya sainyaṁ bāhubhyām idaṁ vacanam abravīt ||

Effective dharmic leadership in conflict begins with restraint: before issuing counsel or strategy, Kṛṣṇa first halts the army’s movement, signaling that discipline and control of force must precede action.
As Yudhiṣṭhira is speaking, Kṛṣṇa quickly intervenes, stops the troops with a physical signal (both arms), and prepares to address them—marking a transition from Yudhiṣṭhira’s words to Kṛṣṇa’s directive guidance.
