धृष्टद्युम्न पलायस्व सह पाज्चालसेनया । सात्यके त्वं च गच्छस्व वृष्ण्यन्धकवृतों गृहान्,*धृष्टद्युम्न! तुम पांचालोंकी सेनाके साथ भाग जाओ। सात्यके! तुम भी वृष्णिवंशी और अन्धकवंशी वीरोंको साथ लेकर घर चले जाओ

सञ्जय उवाच—धृष्टद्युम्न! सह पाञ्चालसेनया शीघ्रं पलायस्व। सात्यके! त्वमपि वृष्ण्यन्धकवीरैः परिवृतो गृहान् गच्छ।
संजय उवाच
In the midst of catastrophic warfare, prudence and responsibility can require retreat: preserving lives and remaining strength may be the most ethical and strategic choice when continuing the fight would be futile or ruinous.
