कृप उवाच
The verse presents an ethical ideal of leadership: steadfastness, gratitude, truthfulness, self-mastery, reverence for teachers and the divine, and unwavering commitment to dharma—while also valuing competence in necessary worldly skills like the science of arms.
In the Drona Parva context, Kṛpa speaks in praise of Yudhiṣṭhira’s character, highlighting his moral virtues and disciplined conduct, thereby framing him as a dharmic exemplar even amid the pressures of war.
