Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the grim paradox of war: splendor and skill (brilliant arrows, ornate armor) serve destruction. It implicitly cautions that external magnificence cannot shield one from the consequences of violent conflict and fate on the battlefield.

Sañjaya describes a moment of intense fighting where golden‑fletched arrows fly in all directions, dazzling the battlefield and ripping through a gold‑adorned armor, making the ten quarters appear illuminated by their flight.
