अत्र कार्य समाधत्स्व प्राप्तकालमरिंदम । स्थाने वा गमने वापि दूरं यातश्न सात्यकि:,'शत्रुदमन! इस समय जो कर्तव्य प्राप्त हो, उसपर ध्यान दीजिये; यहीं ठहरना है या अन्यत्र जाना है। सात्यकि तो बहुत दूर चले गये”

sthāne vā gamane vāpi dūraṃ yātaḥ sa sātyakiḥ ||
“अत्र कार्यं समाधत्स्व प्राप्तकालमरिन्दम। स्थाने वा गमने वापि निर्णीयतां; दूरं यातो हि सात्यकिः।”

In a crisis, dharma often appears as timely, situation-specific duty: one must steady the mind, assess the moment, and choose the action—staying or moving—that best serves responsibility rather than hesitation.
Sanjaya reports urgent counsel to a warrior addressed as ‘ariṃdama’: the situation has shifted because Sātyaki has gone far away, so an immediate decision is needed about whether to hold position or relocate on the battlefield.
