राजानं सर्वलोकस्य सर्वलोकमहारथम् | शरैरभ्याहनद् गाढं ततो युद्धम भूत् तयो:,सब लोगोंके राजा और समस्त संसारके विख्यात महारथी दुर्योधनको उन्होंने अपने बाणोंद्वारा गहरी चोट पहुँचायी। फिर तो उन दोनोंमें भारी युद्ध छिड़ गया
sañjaya uvāca |
rājānaṃ sarvalokasya sarvaloka-mahāratham |
śarair abhyāhanad gāḍhaṃ tato yuddham abhūt tayoḥ ||
राजानं सर्वलोकस्य सर्वलोकमहारथम्। शरैरभ्याहनद् गाढं ततो युद्धमभूत् तयोः॥
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the Kṣatriya world where fame, kingship, and duty are measured in battle; it implicitly raises the ethical tension that even celebrated rulers become subject to the harsh consequences of violence once war is unleashed.
Sañjaya reports that Duryodhana is struck hard by an opponent’s arrows, and as a result a fierce duel begins between the two warriors.
