Steadfastness under suffering is presented as a heroic virtue: even when wounded by many arrows, a warrior who remains unshaken embodies disciplined courage and resolve, aligning with kṣatriya-dharma in the battlefield context.
Sañjaya reports that Sātyaki, despite being struck and lacerated by numerous arrows during the fighting, did not tremble. The narrator highlights this composure as something astonishing.
