द्रोणपर्व (अध्याय ११२) — कर्णभीमयोर्युद्धम्, दुर्योधनस्य रक्षणादेशः
Droṇa-parva 112: Karṇa–Bhīma Engagement and Duryodhana’s Protective Order
वासुदेवमतं चैव मम चैवार्जुनस्य च
vāsudevamataṃ caiva mama caivārjunasya ca
वासुदेवमतं चैव मम चैवार्जुनस्य च।
युधिष्ठिर उवाच
Ethically weighty decisions in the epic are often grounded in recognized authority and shared deliberation: Yudhiṣṭhira strengthens a moral stance by aligning it with Vāsudeva’s judgment and Arjuna’s agreement, presenting it as a responsible, consensus-backed view rather than a solitary impulse.
In the midst of the Drona Parva’s intense wartime deliberations, Yudhiṣṭhira speaks to affirm that a particular course of action or assessment is not merely his own; it is also endorsed by Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) and Arjuna, thereby lending the position greater legitimacy and persuasive force.
