Truthful counsel given for another’s welfare should be heeded, especially by a ruler. Sañjaya emphasizes that ethical, reality-based advice (hita + tathya) is more valuable than wishful thinking, and that arrogance in war ignores the moral and cosmic forces aligned with dharma.
Sañjaya addresses King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, reminding him that he has repeatedly warned him: the Pāṇḍavas cannot be defeated in the coming war—so strong is their cause and support that even the gods, even with Indra, would not overcome them.
