Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the Mahābhārata’s recurring tension between kṣatriya-dharma (the warrior’s obligation to fight) and the moral weight of destruction: skill and speed in battle are praised, yet the action remains part of a tragic, ethically charged war.

Sañjaya reports that two allied fighters, riding together on one chariot, rapidly attack and break the forces belonging to Saubala—Śakuni—using sharp, well-made arrows.
