The verse teaches apramāda—steady vigilance—in fulfilling one’s key duties, supported by inner discipline: sense-control, friendliness, forgiveness, and impartiality toward all beings.
Vāyu (the Wind-god) is instructing the listener on dharmic conduct, emphasizing that spiritual and social success depends on careful, consistent practice of prescribed duties and virtues rather than occasional effort.
