एवमुक्त: प्रत्युवाच शृगालो वानरं तदा । ब्राह्मणस्य प्रतिश्रुत्य न मया तदुपाहृतम्
evam uktaḥ pratyuvāca śṛgālo vānaraṃ tadā | brāhmaṇasya pratiśrutya na mayā tad upāhṛtam ||
