लाघवं तस््य ते दृष्टवा समरे सर्वपार्थिवा: । अपूजयन्त संद्वष्टा वाग्भि: शाल्वं नराधिपम्,युद्धमें उसकी फुर्ती देख सब राजा बड़े प्रसन्न हुए और अपनी वाणीद्वारा शाल्वनरेशकी प्रशंसा करने लगे
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
lāghavaṁ tasya te dṛṣṭvā samare sarvapārthivāḥ |
apūjayan saṁdṛṣṭā vāgbhiḥ śālvaṁ narādhipam ||
लाघवं तस्य ते दृष्ट्वा समरे सर्वपार्थिवाः । अपूजयन्त संदृष्टा वाग्भिः शाल्वं नराधिपम् ॥
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Public honor is shown to demonstrated excellence: in the kṣatriya context, visible courage and skill in battle become grounds for praise and recognition by other rulers, reinforcing ideals of valor and reputation.
During a battle, Śālva displays remarkable agility. Observing this directly, the assembled kings become pleased and express their admiration by praising and honoring him verbally.
