“तवान्तिकं गमिष्यामि, तव मात्रा न संशयः” इति। सूत उवाच—एवमुक्त्वा स विप्रो रुदन् तदा अरुन्धतीम् आलिङ्ग्य।
Suta (narrator), quoting a Brahmin/sage in the narrative
It frames a dharmic turning-point—steadfast resolve, grief, and relational duty—through which the Purana typically prepares the listener for Śiva’s grace (anugraha) and the movement of the paśu (soul) toward the Pati (Lord).
Śiva-tattva is implied as the sure refuge one goes “near to” beyond doubt; the narrative emphasizes niścaya (certainty) and surrender, which in Śaiva Siddhānta aligns with the paśu seeking release from pāśa through the Lord’s presence and compassion.
Not a direct ritual instruction; it highlights inner discipline—niścaya, viraha (transformative sorrow), and saṅkalpa—which function as prerequisites for Śaiva sādhanā such as Pāśupata-oriented devotion and later Liṅga-pūjā.
