FAQs

By describing the ordered, symmetrical spread of Jambūdvīpa, the verse frames the cosmos as a regulated manifestation—supporting the Shaiva view that creation is sustained under Pati (Shiva), whom the Linga signifies as the stable axis of reality.

Implicitly, it points to Shiva-tattva as the principle of measure and order: the world’s extensions are not random but ‘even on all sides,’ reflecting the governing intelligence of Pati over the manifest field in which paśus experience pasha and seek release.

No direct puja-vidhi is stated; the takeaway is contemplative discipline (dhyāna) on cosmic order—useful in Pāśupata-oriented practice to steady the mind on Shiva as the unshaken ground symbolized by the Linga.
