Suta Goswami (narrating the Linga-Puja procedure, echoing the internal teaching tradition)
It establishes abhiṣeka as a mantra-governed act: the liṅga is bathed using sacred implements (kuśa/darbha and flowers), indicating that outer ritual must be joined to śabda (mantra) for siddhi.
Śiva is approached as Pati—the Lord who grants sarvārtha-siddhi—through disciplined worship where mantra and purity of offering align the paśu (soul) away from pāśa (bondage) toward grace.
Mantra-pūrvaka abhiṣeka (ritual bathing with mantra-recitation), a core Śaiva pūjā discipline that supports Pāśupata-oriented purification and focused devotion.
