jagāma madanaṃ labdhvā vasaṃtena samanvitā

It frames desire (kāma) as a cosmic force that arises with spring; in Linga-pūjā, the devotee offers this impulse back to Pati (Śiva) so that pashu-nature is purified rather than driven by bondage.
By implication, Śiva-tattva stands as the transcendent Lord (Pati) before whom even Madana’s stirring power becomes secondary—desire is shown as a movement in prakṛti/Śakti, not the final reality.
The takeaway aligns with Pāśupata discipline: observe the rise of desire (kāma) and redirect it through mantra, worship, and restraint so it becomes devotion rather than pāśa (bondage).
