Kardama Muni’s Penance, Viṣṇu’s Darśana, and the Arrangement of Devahūti’s Marriage
तस्मिन् सुधन्वन्नहनि भगवान् यत्समादिशत् । उपायादाश्रमपदं मुने: शान्तव्रतस्य तत् ॥ ३७ ॥
tasmin sudhanvann ahani bhagavān yat samādiśat upāyād āśrama-padaṁ muneḥ śānta-vratasya tat
तस्मिन् सुधन्वन्नहनि भगवान् यत्समादिशत् । उपायादाश्रमपदं मुनेः शान्तव्रतस्य तत् ॥
It states that on an auspicious day the Supreme Lord acted according to His own divine ordinance and arrived at the hermitage of the sage Śāntavrata, showing how the Lord personally fulfills His will and blesses saintly devotees.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is narrating this verse (addressing Vidura) within the Third Canto’s teachings and history.
The verse highlights reverence for saintly life and reminds devotees that sincere spiritual practice attracts divine grace—encouraging one to keep peaceful vows, seek holy association, and trust the Lord’s timing.
