Arcana-vidhi: The Method of Deity Worship
Vedic, Tantric, and Mixed

yaḥ sva-dattāṁ parair dattāṁ hareta sura-viprayoḥ vṛttiṁ sa jāyate viḍ-bhug varṣāṇām ayutāyutam
यः स्वदत्तां वा परैर्दत्तां देवविप्रयोः संपदं हरेत्। स प्रेत्य विड्भुग् भूत्वा वर्षाणामयुतायुतं जीवति॥
In Bhagavatam 11.27.54, Lord Kṛṣṇa states that stealing what has been donated for the demigods or brāhmaṇas leads to severe karmic reaction—rebirth as a stool-eating creature for an extremely long duration.
In the Uddhava-gītā section (Canto 11), Krishna teaches bhakti along with strict dharma for worship and sacred giving; this verse warns Uddhava that misappropriating religious charity and offerings is a grave offense that obstructs spiritual progress.
Do not misuse or divert donated funds, sacred offerings, or charity meant for spiritual purposes; maintain transparent stewardship, honor the donor’s intent, and treat religious resources as sacred trust.
