ततश्चैषा मही मित्र भवित्री नष्टकण्टका ॥ ३५ ॥
tataś caiṣā mahī mitra bhavitrī naṣṭa-kaṇṭakā

It means the world becomes relieved when oppressive, demoniac forces are removed—‘thorns’ symbolizing those who torment the earth and obstruct dharma.
Śukadeva is narrating intimately to King Parīkṣit, addressing him affectionately as a friend while describing the divine outcome of Kṛṣṇa’s mission.
