अयं सूक्तः राज्ञोऽतिथिरूपेण ज्ञातव्रात्यस्य (साक्रलस्य बहिर्गतस्य) च गृहस्थस्य राष्ट्रस्य च मध्ये राजकीय-प्रभावयुक्तं सङ्गमं विधत्ते, सीमास्थितिं स्थिर-स्वराज्ये परिणमयति। सत्कार-प्रतिग्रह-सम्यगभिज्ञान-विधानैः क्षत्रस्य (राजशक्तेः) राष्ट्रस्य (राज्यस्य) च ‘वृश्चन’ (वृश्च्-) निवारयति, तथा च राजत्वं विश्वाधारिते श्रेणीक्रमे पुनः प्रतिष्ठापयति। अस्य प्रभावः बन्धु-प्रकारेण तादात्म्य-निर्देशेषु निहितः—आदित्यः=क्षत्रम्, द्यौः=इन्द्रः इत्यादि—यैः संस्थाः पवित्रीकृताः, भक्तिः पदक्रमश्च कर्मणा विधेयौ भवतः।

तद् यस्यै॒वं वि॒द्वान् व्रात्यो॒ राज्ञोऽति॑थिर्गृ॒हाना॒गच्छे॑त्
तद् यस्यैवं विद्वान् व्रात्यो राज्ञोऽतिथिर्गृहान् आगच्छेत्।

श्रेयां॑समेनमा॒त्मनो॑ मानये॒त् तथा॑ क्ष॒त्राय॒ ना वृ॑श्चते॒ तथा॑ रा॒ष्ट्राय॒ ना वृ॑श्चते
एनं पुरुषम् आत्मनः श्रेयांसम् इति मानयेत्; तथा क्षत्राय न वृश्चते, तथा राष्ट्राय न वृश्चते।

अतो॒ वै ब्रह्म॑ च क्ष॒त्रं चोद॑तिष्ठतां॒ ते अ॑ब्रूतां॒ कं प्र वि॑शा॒वेति॑
अथ वै ब्रह्म च क्षत्रं च सहोत्थितौ; तौ अब्रूतां— ‘कं प्र विशाव?’ इति।

एनमिन्द्रियं गच्छति; इन्द्रियवान् भवति।

य आ॑दि॒त्यं क्ष॒त्रं दिव॒मिन्द्रं॒ वेद॑
य आदित्यं क्षत्रं दिवमिन्द्रं वेद—
To keep royal authority (kṣatra) and the kingdom (rāṣṭra) from being diminished or ‘cut off,’ especially during politically sensitive encounters like receiving a powerful guest.
Because the act of formal deference stabilizes hierarchy and alliance; in the hymn’s logic, correct honor prevents the severance of institutional power and keeps the realm cohesive.
It is a cosmological identification: sovereignty is grounded in the Sun’s ordering power and Indra’s victorious heaven. By affirming this, the performer ritually aligns kingship with cosmic authority.
