तद्वधाय ततश्शक्तिं कालवैश्वानरोपमाम् । अनिरुद्धो गृहीत्वा तां तया तं निजघान हि

The verse uses the imagery of Kāla (Time) and Vaiśvānara (cosmic fire) to show that destructive forces are ultimately governed and redirected by divine order; the devotee learns that even fearsome powers become instruments of dharma when aligned with the higher will (Pati’s ordinance) rather than ego.
Though the scene is martial, its Shaiva thrust is that all śaktis (powers) operate under the Lord’s sovereignty; worship of Saguna Shiva in the Liṅga trains the mind to surrender personal aggression and to let Shiva’s śakti act as protection of dharma, not as personal vengeance.
Meditatively, contemplate Kāla as Shiva’s power and steady the mind with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), offering inner anger into the ‘fire’ of awareness; ritually, maintain Tripuṇḍra and practice japa with rudrākṣa to cultivate restraint and dharmic strength.
