Так, в «Шри Шива‑Махапуране», во Второй книге — «Рудра‑самхите», в Пятом разделе — «Юддха‑кханде», завершается сороковая глава под названием «Сказание о убиении Шанкхачуды».
Suta Goswami
This is a colophon verse marking the completion of a chapter; spiritually, it emphasizes śāstra-smṛti (recollection of sacred narrative) and the Purāṇic method of sealing teachings—here, that dharma is restored when Shiva (as Pati) subdues forces that bind beings (pāśa) through adharma.
Though it is a concluding marker, it situates the reader within the Rudra Saṃhitā’s Yuddha-khaṇḍa, where Saguna Shiva’s protective and corrective grace is highlighted—supporting devotional worship (bhakti) toward Shiva as the active Lord who safeguards dharma.
As a chapter-ending cue, it traditionally invites śravaṇa and manana: recite or hear the chapter with devotion, conclude with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and offer simple worship such as bilva leaves or vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) remembrance.
