It highlights that even exalted beings may temporarily undergo the “fruit” of a curse (a karmic bondage), yet by divine order and right time they return to their own true station—showing Shiva’s governance of karma and the eventual restoration of dharma.
The verse points to Shiva as the Lord who regulates worldly consequences and grants restoration. Linga-worship centers the devotee in Saguna Shiva’s grace (anugraha), by which karmic afflictions are endured, purified, and ultimately transcended.
A practical takeaway is steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa, cultivating patience through karmic trials while seeking Shiva’s grace for return to one’s highest state.
