Увидев, как те двое, устрашённые грозным криком «хум», отвернулись и отступили, жена владыки дайтьев в сердце своём была чрезвычайно изумлена, о мудрец.

The verse highlights how a mere divine “huṃ” (a seed-like utterance of power) can dissolve hostile force and turn it back—symbolizing that when Pati (the Supreme Lord) asserts His will, pasha (bondage and aggression) loses its hold, and even the onlooker’s heart is struck with transformative awe.
In Shaiva devotion, Saguna Shiva’s grace is experienced as immediate protection and command over the forces of chaos. The ‘huṃkāra’ reflects Shiva’s sovereign śakti expressed through sound—akin to how Linga worship centers the mind on the Lord’s palpable presence and protective lordship.
A practical takeaway is mantra-discipline: steady japa of Shiva mantras (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to cultivate inner fearlessness, along with simple Shaiva observances like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha as supports for remembrance and mental steadiness.
