Ганы являлись в бесчисленных причудливых обликах: одни — без глаз, другие — с множеством глаз; одни — уродливые, другие — стройные и ладные; одни — без ушей, другие — с множеством ушей; и каждый носил свой особый облик и одеяние.
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Bhairava
It highlights the Lord’s immeasurable śakti expressed through His gaṇas—divine attendants who can assume limitless forms, reminding the devotee that Shiva’s manifested (saguṇa) domain transcends ordinary human categories and perception.
While the Liṅga points to Shiva’s formless reality (nirguṇa), the gaṇas represent His accessible, manifested order (saguṇa) that protects dharma and supports His līlā; devotion may begin with such forms and mature toward the Liṅga’s transcendence.
Contemplate Shiva as Pati (the Lord) whose powers operate in countless ways; accompany this contemplation with japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” stabilizing the mind amid the diversity of forms.
