द्वारपाल-गणेशसंवादः / The Dialogue at the Gate: Gaṇeśa and Śiva’s Gaṇas
ते सर्वेपि गणाश्शैवास्तत्रत्या वचनं तदा । श्रुत्वा तत्र शिवं गत्वा तद्वृत्तांतमथाब्रुवन्
te sarvepi gaṇāśśaivāstatratyā vacanaṃ tadā | śrutvā tatra śivaṃ gatvā tadvṛttāṃtamathābruvan
Тогда все те шайвские ганы, услышав сказанное там, отправились к Господу Шиве и должным образом поведали Ему обо всём случившемся.
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya, inferred from Purāṇic frame and Rudra Saṃhitā style)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It highlights Śiva-bhakti expressed as disciplined sevā: the Gaṇas listen carefully, approach Śiva directly, and truthfully report events—showing the Shaiva ideal of acting as instruments of Pati (Śiva) with loyalty and clarity.
The verse reflects Saguna Śiva devotion—approaching the Lord as the accessible master of the Gaṇas. In Linga-worship too, the devotee first receives instruction (śravaṇa), then approaches Śiva with reverence (upāsanā), and offers a sincere ‘report’ of one’s inner state through prayer and confession.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa and nivedana: begin worship by hearing/reciting Śiva-kathā or the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), then mentally present to Śiva an honest account of one’s actions and intentions, concluding with devotion and resolve.
